Responsibilities
- Develop computer vision and machine learning algorithms for object detection, classification, localization, tracking, and real-time automated target recognition.
- Perform visual imagery data science to guide data collection, labeling, dataset selection, and training of deep computer vision models.
- Analyze and rank ML algorithms, define objectives and metrics, select data representations, analyze errors, and develop strategies to improve model performance.
- Write and test software integrating machine learning algorithms into aircraft systems, autopilots, payloads, and other platforms.
- Support requirements definition, concept design, prototyping, detailed design, test and evaluation, validation, and verification testing.
- Troubleshoot complex systems and perform algorithmic optimization.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis, including visualization and manipulation of large datasets.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, or a related science or engineering discipline.
- At least 5 years of relevant machine learning and/or computer vision experience; the posting also states 5–8 years of relevant computer vision experience.
- Proficiency with Python, C, and C++.
- Proficiency with a deep learning framework, preferably PyTorch.
- Proficiency with OpenCV, scikit-learn, and pandas.
- Familiarity with Linux and NVIDIA tools including CUDA, JetPack, and TensorRT, as well as deployment to NVIDIA Jetson processors and other NVIDIA GPUs.
- Ability to work within defined requirements, collaborate effectively, troubleshoot complex systems, and communicate clearly.
- U.S. citizenship is required, along with the ability to obtain at least a Secret-level Department of Defense security clearance.
- Willingness and ability to travel occasionally, up to 25%.
- Advanced degree and existing Secret or Top Secret clearance are preferred or desired.
