Responsibilities
- Develop computer vision and machine learning algorithms for object detection, classification, localization, and tracking from stationary and mobile sensor platforms.
- Support real-time automated target recognition for defense and commercial applications.
- Perform visual imagery data science to guide data collection, labeling, dataset selection, and training of deep computer vision models.
- Analyze algorithms, define objectives and metrics, select data representations, evaluate errors, and design improvement strategies.
- Train and validate machine learning algorithms through purpose-designed experiments.
- Write and test software to integrate machine learning algorithms into aircraft, autopilots, payloads, and other systems.
- Participate in requirements definition, concept design, prototyping, detailed design, test and evaluation, and validation and verification testing.
- Troubleshoot complex systems and perform algorithmic optimization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, physics, or a related science or engineering discipline.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in machine learning and/or computer vision; the posting also specifies 5–8 years of relevant computer vision experience.
- Proficiency with Python and C/C++.
- Proficiency with a deep learning framework, preferably PyTorch.
- Proficiency with OpenCV, scikit-learn, and pandas or similar computer vision and machine learning libraries.
- Familiarity with Linux and NVIDIA tools including CUDA, JetPack, and TensorRT.
- Familiarity with deployment to NVIDIA Jetson processors and other NVIDIA GPUs.
- Ability to perform exploratory data analysis, including visualization and manipulation of large datasets.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex systems and optimize algorithms.
- Advanced degree preferred.
- U.S. citizenship required, with the ability to obtain at least a Secret-level DoD security clearance.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly, up to 40%.
