Responsibilities

Design and build scalable, fault-tolerant backend services for video ingest, transcoding job orchestration, adaptive bitrate packaging, and content delivery workflows.
Own complex VoD backend features end-to-end from technical design and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and operational handoff.
Write maintainable, well-tested code and promote code reviews and engineering best practices.
Contribute to VoD platform architecture by evaluating throughput, latency, cost, and reliability trade-offs.
Integrate video pipeline components with CMS, CDN origin, DRM/entitlement systems, and metadata APIs.
Participate in on-call rotations, lead incident response, perform root cause analysis, and drive preventive reliability improvements.
Optimize transcoding profiles and pipeline parallelism for cost efficiency, throughput, and time-to-publish.
Collaborate with product, content operations, and engineering teams to deliver robust technical solutions.
Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions.

5+ years of professional backend software engineering experience building and operating distributed systems in production.
Proficiency in Go, Python, or Java with solid system design foundations.
Experience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, message queues, workflow orchestration, and idempotency patterns.
Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, including compute, object storage, managed queues, and serverless or containerized workloads.
Experience with storage systems, caching strategies, and database query performance tuning.
Familiarity with video processing pipelines, H.264 and H.265 codecs, MP4 and fMP4 container formats, and HLS or MPEG-DASH streaming protocols is preferred.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, infrastructure-as-code, and observability tooling is preferred.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Strong communication, collaboration, mentorship, and knowledge-sharing skills.

Full-time onsite role in Bangalore.
