Responsibilities
- Architect, deploy, operate, and evolve AWS infrastructure supporting high-availability financial services workloads.
- Own Terraform infrastructure-as-code strategy, reusable modules, state management, and engineering standards.
- Lead the Kubernetes/EKS platform strategy, including cluster upgrades, node architecture, Helm governance, GitOps, and autoscaling.
- Improve CI/CD platforms and enable safe, fast, self-service application deployments.
- Design and validate disaster recovery, cross-region failover, backup automation, and DR simulations.
- Define observability standards, SLO/SLI frameworks, alerting, tracing, incident response, and root-cause analysis.
- Drive capacity planning, resource saturation reviews, FinOps, cloud cost optimization, and vendor spend governance.
- Define AWS security, compliance, networking, IAM, encryption, secrets management, load balancing, CDN, and DNS architectures.
- Architect AI/ML infrastructure and lead adoption and governance of AI-powered developer tools and infrastructure automation.
- Build internal platforms and golden paths that improve developer experience and reduce operational toil.
- Lead cross-functional infrastructure initiatives, architecture reviews, technical planning, documentation, hiring, and mentorship.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on cloud infrastructure engineering experience with deep production AWS expertise.
- End-to-end ownership of infrastructure initiatives from architecture and implementation through rollout and operations.
- Expert Terraform proficiency, including module design, state management, and infrastructure-as-code standards.
- Extensive production Kubernetes experience at scale, preferably EKS, including cluster lifecycle management, multi-tenancy, Helm, and GitOps.
- Strong Linux systems engineering and advanced scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Go.
- Deep experience with CI/CD platforms including GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, or Jenkins.
- Expert understanding of cloud networking and security, including VPC, Transit Gateway, DNS, load balancing, IAM, KMS, WAF, GuardDuty, and Secrets Manager.
- Experience operating observability platforms such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, and OpenSearch/ELK.
- Strong database infrastructure and data-layer architecture experience with Aurora PostgreSQL, RDS, ElastiCache/Redis, OpenSearch, or DynamoDB.
- Experience designing high-availability architectures, disaster recovery plans, and DR simulations.
- Excellent technical communication skills, including ADR writing, leadership presentations, and communication with nontechnical stakeholders.
- Proven mentoring, knowledge sharing, design review, and team capability-building experience.
- Preferred qualifications include 7+ years of infrastructure or platform engineering experience, 3+ years at senior or staff level, regulated-industry experience, relevant AWS certifications, event streaming, API gateway, AI/ML infrastructure, policy-as-code, FinOps, technical writing, or open-source contributions.
