Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain reliable, secure, and scalable database platform infrastructure.
- Apply cloud infrastructure, networking, and CI/CD practices to operational data storage solutions.
- Support database provisioning and operational efficiency for product teams.
- Deliver code and infrastructure improvements aligned with the team roadmap.
- Participate in technical discussions, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
- Participate in on-call rotations and troubleshoot incidents.
- Maintain observability through metrics, logging, and tracing to support SLOs and availability targets.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience maintaining cloud-based infrastructure, particularly with AWS.
- Practical experience with operational data storage solutions such as PostgreSQL, Amazon RDS, and S3.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes/EKS.
- Proficiency in infrastructure as code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools.
- Competence in at least one programming language, with Python preferred.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as GitHub Actions, Argo CD, or Jenkins.
- Familiarity with cloud networking and security best practices.
- Familiarity with observability tools including Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
- Knowledge of database internals, performance tuning, replication, failover, sharding, or clustering is preferred.
- Backend engineering experience is preferred.
- Strong collaboration, communication, ownership, and problem-solving skills.
