Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and execute automated infrastructure testing solutions using Chef, Ansible, Python, Ruby, Shell, and Jenkins.
- Create test approaches, test cases, and manual test executions for applications, APIs, user interfaces, infrastructure, and network changes.
- Integrate testing into orchestration platforms and Jenkins pipelines while contributing to infrastructure test automation framework architecture.
- Validate network configurations, firewall rule changes, proxies, load balancers, application performance, scalability, availability, failover, and recovery.
- Plan and execute resiliency and chaos-testing scenarios, including recovery validation, observability analysis, and RTO/RPO verification.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, application development, project stakeholders, and business resources to assess risks, dependencies, requirements, and software changes.
- Analyze and document test results and provide traceable evidence for governance, audit, and operational readiness reviews.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of IT experience with expertise in testing, DevOps, platform operations, or an equivalent role.
- Basic automation scripting knowledge with Chef, Ansible, Python, Ruby, or Shell scripts.
- Knowledge of network configurations, firewall rules, proxies, and load balancers.
- Working experience with Linux or a UNIX-based operating system.
- Basic knowledge of AWS cloud technologies and services.
- Basic understanding of issue and defect tracking in JIRA.
- Basic or developing knowledge of resiliency engineering, including high availability, disaster recovery, failover validation, RTO/RPO objectives, and observability.
- Basic or developing understanding of resiliency and chaos-testing approaches across AWS, Azure, Kubernetes/OpenShift, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure environments.
- Understanding or willingness to learn tools such as Gremlin, stress-ng, AWS Fault Injection Service, and Azure Chaos Studio.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate with business clients, developers, engineering teams, and operations teams.
