Responsibilities
- Design test approaches, test cases, and infrastructure test automation based on technical requirements, stories, epics, and functional requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and execute automated tests using Chef, Ansible, Python, Ruby, Shell, and Jenkins Groovy scripts.
- Integrate infrastructure testing into orchestration platforms and Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.
- Perform manual testing of user interfaces, APIs, and applications when required.
- Test network configurations, firewall rule changes, proxies, load balancers, and multi-tiered applications.
- Support performance, resiliency, recovery, availability, failover, scalability, observability, and RTO/RPO validation across cloud, container, and hybrid environments.
- Participate in resiliency test planning and execution, including risk-based scenarios and recovery validation.
- Analyze test results with engineering and operations teams, document findings, and provide traceable test evidence for governance, audit, and operational readiness reviews.
- Collaborate with development, technical, business, project, and operational stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Contribute to the architecture and evolution of infrastructure test automation frameworks.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of IT experience with expertise in testing, DevOps, platform operations, or an equivalent role.
- Basic automation scripting knowledge using Chef, Ansible, Python, Ruby, or Shell scripts.
- Knowledge of network configurations, firewall rules, proxies, and load balancers.
- Experience working with Linux or a UNIX-based operating system.
- Basic knowledge of AWS cloud technology and services.
- Basic knowledge of tracking and defect tracking in JIRA.
- Basic or developing knowledge of resiliency engineering concepts, including high availability, disaster recovery, failover validation, RTO/RPO objectives, and observability.
- Basic or developing understanding of resiliency and chaos testing across AWS, Azure, Kubernetes/OpenShift, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure environments.
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn chaos engineering tools such as Gremlin, stress-ng, AWS Fault Injection Service, or Azure Chaos Studio.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work effectively with business clients, developers, engineering teams, and operations teams.
