Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of scalable, robust, and maintainable software solutions while contributing hands-on code.
- Provide technical leadership, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and guide engineering decisions.
- Drive high-impact projects from conception through delivery in alignment with strategic objectives.
- Resolve complex technical challenges and improve the engineering platform.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and apply them to advance Function’s healthcare technology platform.
- Balance strategic oversight, team management, and active software development contributions.
Requirements
- At least 12 years of software engineering experience, including significant leadership experience in a startup environment.
- Active coding experience alongside team management and leadership of complex software development initiatives.
- Extensive software development experience with proficiency in Python.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Google Cloud and containerization technologies such as Docker.
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles and practices, including Agile methodologies, test-driven development, and continuous integration/continuous deployment.
- Experience building and maintaining large-scale systems.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed, and collaborative team environment.
- Passion for healthcare innovation, continuous learning, and challenging assumptions.
