Base Salary

$120k - $261k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design and build reusable platform engineering and DevOps capabilities across Azure and Microsoft Fabric workloads.
  • Develop standardized CI/CD frameworks, deployment patterns, release controls, environment promotion, rollback, and deployment validation.
  • Build Infrastructure-as-Code and automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, policy application, deployment, and lifecycle management.
  • Create self-service platform capabilities and paved-road engineering patterns for application and data teams.
  • Drive cloud cost optimization through utilization telemetry, tagging, attribution, idle-resource detection, rightsizing, automated shutdown, capacity optimization, and policy controls.
  • Provide near-real-time visibility into infrastructure utilization and cost across domains, subscriptions, resource groups, services, and initiatives.
  • Improve observability, monitoring, alerting, SLOs, incident diagnosis, automated remediation, resilience, recovery, and capacity management.
  • Integrate security-by-design and DevSecOps practices, including policy enforcement, secrets management, identity, network controls, and automated security validation.
  • Apply AI-assisted and agentic engineering capabilities to developer productivity, operational automation, infrastructure health analysis, troubleshooting, and remediation.
  • Convert recurring engineering and operational toil into reusable automation and platform capabilities.
  • Use operational, incident, cost, deployment, and developer-feedback data to prioritize platform improvements.
  • Partner with Azure, Fabric, Developer Tools, and other Microsoft product teams to address platform gaps and influence product capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience building and operating cloud-scale platforms, infrastructure, or distributed systems is preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure infrastructure and platform services, including networking, identity, compute, storage, containers, serverless technologies, monitoring, and resource governance, is preferred.
  • Experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines and reusable deployment frameworks using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or comparable technologies is preferred.
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, automated infrastructure provisioning, and environment management using Bicep, ARM, Terraform, PowerShell, Azure CLI, or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience with DevOps, SRE, observability, deployment reliability, and operational engineering practices is preferred.
  • Experience with FinOps or cloud-cost engineering, including consumption analysis, cost attribution, rightsizing, resource optimization, capacity management, and automated cost controls, is preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Azure Databricks, Cosmos DB, Azure Data Explorer, Storage, Event Hubs, Functions, AKS, related Azure data/platform technologies, or AI-assisted and AI/agentic automation capabilities is preferred.

Benefits

  • The typical U.S. base pay range is USD $119,800-$234,700 per year; specific ranges apply to the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area.
  • Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
  • The position will remain open for a minimum of 5 days and accepts applications on an ongoing basis until filled.
