Base Salary
$212k - $318k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop Linux kernel, boot firmware, low-level library, driver, and debugging-tool solutions for custom CPUs and high-performance platforms.
- Define future high-performance SoCs and platforms and provide input to senior leadership and organizational decisions.
- Collaborate with hardware and performance teams to identify optimization opportunities and enable new architectural features.
- Ensure operating systems run efficiently and optimize existing software for pre-silicon and on-hardware environments.
- Work independently on complex technical problems and communicate findings to diverse audiences, including senior leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field plus 8+ years of related experience; or a master's degree plus 7+ years; or a PhD plus 6+ years.
- 4+ years of work experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
- Deep understanding of computer architecture, high-performance designs, weak memory models, server platforms, and hardware/software interfaces.
- Proficiency in C, assembly language, and build systems, with systems programming experience in Python or similar languages.
- Expertise developing software virtual platforms, low-level boot firmware, and debugging tools for pre-silicon and on-hardware environments.
- Experience with platform standards including UEFI, ACPI, and SystemReady.
- Preferred qualifications include a master's degree, 10+ years of Linux kernel development, and 10+ or 15+ years building software stacks for high-performance systems.
