Base Salary

$212k - $318k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop solutions for custom CPUs involving the Linux kernel, boot firmware, low-level libraries, and software optimization.
  • Define future high-performance SoCs and platforms with hardware and software teams.
  • Collaborate with performance teams to identify hardware optimization opportunities.
  • Create optimizations and drivers for high-performance platforms.
  • Ensure operating systems run efficiently and identify performance enhancements.
  • Develop software virtual platforms, low-level boot firmware, and debugging tools for pre-silicon and hardware environments.
  • Work independently, influence organizational decisions, communicate complex information, and develop innovative solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field plus 8+ years of software engineering or related experience; alternatively, a master's degree plus 7+ years or a PhD plus 6+ years.
  • At least 4 years of experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
  • Deep understanding of computer architecture, high-performance designs, weak memory models, server platforms, and hardware/software interfaces.
  • Experience with systems programming, software virtual platforms, low-level boot firmware, debugging tools, and pre-silicon and hardware development.
  • Experience building to UEFI, ACPI, and SystemReady platform standards.
  • Preferred qualifications include a master's degree in Engineering or Computer Science, 10+ years of Linux kernel development, and 10+ or 15+ years building software stacks for high-performance systems.
