Base Salary

$250k - $361k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Roku OS features for the Roku TV program using embedded software practices and AI-assisted development tools.
  • Design and implement scalable solutions to support new factory onboarding.
  • Perform SoC integration and platform bring-up.
  • Integrate third-party APIs and support end-to-end product development and release cycles.
  • Collaborate with internal development, QA, channel certification, product, and external hardware partner teams.
  • Debug and maintain code while evaluating AI-generated code for correctness, security, and performance in embedded contexts.
  • Share effective AI prompts, workflows, and tooling improvements to increase team productivity.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant software development experience.
  • 4+ years of C/C++ coding experience.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or another relevant field.
  • Proven production experience using AI coding tools such as Claude, Copilot, Cursor, OpenCode, or Codex.
  • Advanced prompt engineering, agentic coding, and AI-generated code review skills, including identifying hallucinations, bugs, vulnerabilities, and performance issues.
  • Experience with SoC development and integration is preferred.
  • Experience developing and debugging on Linux or Android-based embedded platforms.
  • Understanding of Linux systems and kernel concepts, multithreading primitives, Linux tools, libraries, and open-source development.
  • Experience with streaming audio/video platforms, graphics, and industry standards.
  • Understanding of AI threats such as prompt injection and data leakage, with the ability to code defensively against them.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and communicating effectively in a fast-paced engineering environment.
  • Preferred qualifications include production experience integrating LLMs, embeddings, or AI capabilities; embedded systems expertise combined with AI fluency; and contributions to AI tooling, agents, scripts, or internal productivity workflows.
