Base Salary
$250k - $350k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own complete vertical slices of cross-team and platform-level work, including migrations, deprecations, and architectural pivots.
- Set technical standards, improve designs, identify architectural drift, and establish reusable engineering patterns.
- Identify, evaluate, and drive platform-level opportunities and technical investments to decisions using evidence, alternatives, and tradeoffs.
- Define SLOs and observability for shipped systems and share on-call ownership.
- Lead rearchitecture of legacy or high-debt areas through migration and deprecation.
- Drive adoption of agentic AI-assisted development by building internal tooling, defining workflows, and establishing AI-native engineering standards.
- Engage customers and partners during incidents, design reviews, and major rollouts.
- Mentor Senior Engineers through code review, design partnership, and direct coaching.
- Influence engineering practices across teams, including architecture standards, operational excellence, and AI strategy.
Requirements
- A track record of owning cross-team or platform-level initiatives from ambiguous beginnings through long-term operation.
- Deep technical foundations across distributed systems, data infrastructure, and service architecture.
- Experience owning complex systems through design, rollout, observability, on-call, migrations, deprecations, and long-term operation.
- A record of identifying and driving significant technical investments in reliability, platform capability, or the technology stack.
- Demonstrable depth with agentic coding tools, context-engineered environments, AI-augmented workflows, custom agents, or AI-native tooling.
- A track record of mentoring and coaching Senior Engineers toward greater judgment and impact.
- Strong customer and product orientation, including direct engagement with customers, partners, or downstream consumers.
- Clear written communication through design documents, reviews, and post-release writeups.
- Demonstrated cross-team influence through technical credibility rather than positional authority.
- Experience defining organization-wide AI adoption strategy is preferred.
- Healthcare technology, HIPAA-regulated environments, or other regulated data experience is preferred.
- Experience incubating product directions or greenfield platform capabilities is preferred.
- Speaking, writing, or open-source activity demonstrating broader technical influence is preferred.
