Base Salary
$210k - $234k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead Muon's in-house simulation product team
- Design and deliver simulation services for business development, mission design, operations, and ground and flight software engineering stakeholders
- Align technical roadmaps with product requirements and mission needs
- Develop simulation performance specifications and integrate physical simulation models into complete products
- Use client feedback to drive iterative improvements to simulation products
- Integrate simulation tools into automated testing campaigns with the Software Test team
- Improve team estimation and planning
- Define success metrics to align the team with company goals
- Mentor Simulation and Test team engineers
Requirements
- B.S. or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related field
- 10+ years of software engineering experience in a team environment
- Strong programming experience in both a high-level scripting language and a compiled systems language
- Ability to collaborate with specialized experts on complex, cross-functional products
- Willingness to operate in novel technical domains
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Preferred: experience with numerical simulation techniques and statistical analysis
- Preferred: knowledge of Julia
- Preferred: familiarity with Linux systems administration and Docker containers
- Preferred: familiarity with cloud deployment environments such as Kubernetes and virtual instances
- Preferred: experience with Software-in-the-Loop simulation
- Preferred: knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps best practices
- Preferred: familiarity with orbital satellite operations
