Base Salary
$88k - $180k/yr
Responsibilities
- Direct coding agents by decomposing production work into executable tasks, dispatching them, and integrating the resulting software.
- Review agent-generated pull requests at high volume and depth, identifying defects that automated tests miss.
- Author and own evaluation suites that measure correctness and support eval-driven development.
- Own correctness, performance, security posture, and WCAG accessibility for shipped software.
- Advance or revert workstreams on the autonomy ladder based on reliability data.
- Improve prompts, patterns, and pipeline components with the lead architect.
- Maintain agent operations within the security boundary using branch-only execution, vaulted credentials, sandboxed actions, and in-VPC inference.
- Mentor engineers transitioning to agent-directed delivery and contribute to lifecycle standards.
Requirements
- Strong engineering fundamentals in data structures, systems design, testing, and rapidly understanding unfamiliar code.
- Demonstrated experience shipping production software while owning diagnosis, remediation, and overall quality.
- Hands-on experience directing coding agents on production work and critically reviewing their generated code.
- Strong code-review skills, including identifying defects not caught by automated tests and providing actionable feedback.
- High autonomy, proactive escalation, and the ability to advance work without step-by-step direction.
- Preferred: experience in FedRAMP, defense, financial services, healthcare, NIST 800-53, SOC 2, HIPAA, or another regulated environment.
- Preferred: experience authoring evaluations or practicing test-first development in a rigorous engineering culture.
- Preferred: full-stack range, plus public-sector or GovTech experience and familiarity with relevant end users.
