Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of Android Automotive OS infotainment applications.
- Architect full-stack solutions for media, navigation, user profiles, and distributed playback.
- Develop modules that communicate with VHAL and other HALs through AIDL and HIDL.
- Integrate applications with Android system services and vendor-specific frameworks.
- Debug and optimize application, framework, and HAL-layer issues for stability and performance.
- Collaborate with platform, hardware, and QA teams on integration and validation.
- Mentor junior developers and enforce architecture, code quality, and testing practices.
- Create and present architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and implementation details.
- Lead Android infotainment application development across automotive platforms.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of professional experience is required, with the role additionally stating 3 years of Android application development experience.
- At least 2–3 years of experience in infotainment and telematics is required.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering is required.
- Strong proficiency in Java, Kotlin, and C++14/17.
- Deep understanding of Android SDK, Android NDK, Jetpack libraries, and MVVM architecture.
- Experience with Android Activities, Services, Broadcast Receivers, and Content Providers.
- Hands-on experience with AIDL/HIDL, VHAL, and HAL-to-application communication.
- Familiarity with AAOS car services and infotainment integration.
- Experience with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and CAN at the application level.
- Exposure to media, phone, navigation, and cloud-communication applications.
- Experience with partitioning concepts and cross-partition communication.
- Proficiency in unit testing, instrumentation testing, and mocking frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with Git, CI/CD workflows, adb, logcat, Perfetto, and Systrace.
- Knowledge of ISO 26262 functional safety, ASPICE, and ISO/SAE 21434 cybersecurity.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity practices including TARA and secure communication.
