Responsibilities

  • Build, design, test, configure, and deploy systems for monitoring and managing networks containing Cisco routers and switches, Microsoft servers and workstations, and monitoring products.
  • Develop custom-coded tools that obtain data from other products through APIs and present it in custom dashboards.
  • Coordinate development work with developers and DBAs and manage code planning, implementation, integration, configuration, and testing.
  • Evaluate existing systems and recommend solutions that meet Department of State requirements.
  • Work with network engineering and operations teams to obtain product data and support management of network devices.
  • Collaborate with technical subject matter experts, participate in technical working groups, and contribute to technical advisory boards when needed.
  • Document developed code and product usage parameters.
  • Provide limited onsite and remote network engineering services supporting more than 100,000 global customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related discipline with 18+ years of experience, or a master’s degree with 16 years of experience; additional years of experience may substitute for the degree.
  • Experience implementing custom-coded solutions in large enterprise or global networks.
  • Solid understanding of end-user security and authentication.
  • In-depth experience with Visual Studio, SQL, C#, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience working directly with customers and independently contributing in a small team.
  • U.S. citizenship and an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
  • Preferred experience includes integrating network management, security, and monitoring tools such as HP Network Automation, Micro Focus Network Automation, OpenText, Cisco Prime, Cisco DNA, Red Seal, NetBrain, Cisco ISE, Niksun, and LiveAction.
  • Preferred qualifications include VMware experience, experience with Cisco tools and network products, cloud experience with Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services, and experience working in teams of three to five.
