Base Salary
$130k - $195k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain production services and infrastructure for key management, encryption, and decryption.
- Help architect, launch, and scale Robinhood’s in-house card-processing environment.
- Write maintainable production code and build operational tooling across software, infrastructure, and security controls.
- Support internal engineering teams with migrations and adoption of shared cryptographic capabilities.
- Ensure safe system design and participate in a rotating on-call schedule to maintain availability, security, and reliability.
Requirements
- Experience building, operating, or supporting production services, distributed systems, or infrastructure.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Python, Go, Java, C#, or C++.
- Ability to reason about complex systems and work across software development, infrastructure, and operational reliability.
- Clear and concise communication skills with the ability to explain technical decisions and collaborate proactively.
- Curiosity about security engineering principles and willingness to participate in a light on-call rotation.
- Prior SRE, platform engineering, or cloud security experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with key management, secrets management, symmetric encryption, or public/private key pairs is preferred.
- Experience with sensitive financial, payment, or card data in regulated environments is preferred.
- Experience supporting internal customer migrations or driving platform adoption is preferred.
