Responsibilities
- Improve the reliability, availability, performance, uptime, and operational maturity of Oracle Analytics Cloud services.
- Diagnose complex service issues across distributed systems, automation, infrastructure, and enterprise applications using logs, telemetry, code investigation, and operational data.
- Perform incident response, proactive monitoring, code-level troubleshooting, automation, capacity analysis, patching, remediation, and continuous service improvement.
- Develop and operate internal services, automation, dashboards, reporting capabilities, and operational tooling for cloud operations.
- Read, understand, investigate, troubleshoot, and safely modify existing application code.
- Support cloud infrastructure, networking, applications, services, tools, and operational processes.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, knowledge articles, and operational guides.
- Participate in on-call rotations, after-hours maintenance, and weekend support as needed.
- Collaborate with Oracle Analytics development teams and remote global teams in customer-focused operational environments.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of Java and the ability to troubleshoot existing application code; experience with other object-oriented languages such as C# is valuable.
- Experience with cloud-native applications, containers, Kubernetes, microservices, independently scalable services, and large-scale distributed applications in production.
- Linux/Unix system-administration experience, including troubleshooting processes, memory, CPU, filesystems, and networks.
- Strong understanding of networking and TCP/IP fundamentals, including DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, load balancing, and service connectivity.
- Experience supporting cloud infrastructure, services, applications, tools, and operational processes.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues methodically and work independently while managing competing priorities.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience working with remote global teams.
- Two to four years of experience operating large-scale, customer-facing web applications or cloud services.
- Preferred experience with Python, Bash, JavaScript/Node.js, OCI, AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle Analytics Cloud, Oracle Analytics Server, OBIS, BI Publisher, Oracle Database, Autonomous Database, MySQL, SQL Server, NoSQL technologies, REST APIs, service integrations, Jira, Confluence, Codex, or Claude Code.
