Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve complex service issues across distributed systems, automation, infrastructure, and enterprise applications.
- Improve service uptime through monitoring, incident response, code-level troubleshooting, automation, capacity analysis, patching, remediation, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and operate internal services, automation, dashboards, reporting capabilities, and operational tooling.
- Investigate logs, telemetry, application code, and operational data to drive issues from detection through mitigation and prevention.
- Support cloud infrastructure, networking, applications, services, tools, and operational processes.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, knowledge articles, and operational guides.
- Participate in on-call, after-hours maintenance, and weekend support as needed.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of Java and the ability to read, understand, investigate, and troubleshoot existing application code.
- Experience with cloud-native applications, containers, Kubernetes, microservices, independently scalable services, and large-scale distributed applications in production.
- Linux/Unix system-administration experience, including troubleshooting processes, memory, CPU, filesystems, and network issues.
- Strong understanding of networking and TCP/IP fundamentals, including DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, load balancing, and service connectivity.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation and operational guides.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with remote global teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Preferred qualifications include programming or scripting with Python, Bash, or JavaScript/Node.js; experience with OCI, AWS, Azure, or GCP; Oracle Analytics technologies; Oracle Database, Autonomous Database, MySQL, SQL Server, or NoSQL technologies; REST APIs; Codex; Claude Code; Jira; and Confluence.
- Two to four years of experience operating large-scale, customer-facing web applications or cloud services.
