Base Salary
$115k - $225k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and lead development of a high-throughput, event-driven performance calculation engine on AWS.
- Drive migration of legacy performance reporting applications to a scalable, cloud-native technology platform.
- Design distributed systems using object-oriented languages, Apache Kafka, and AWS services.
- Define data modeling, schema design, observability, alerting, runbook, reliability, and auditability standards.
- Lead sprint planning, backlog refinement, iterative delivery, technical documentation, code reviews, and test strategy.
- Research and evaluate open-source technologies and cloud-native AWS services.
- Mentor and lead a global engineering team, provide feedback, and support career development.
- Translate financial requirements into technical specifications and communicate trade-offs and roadmap recommendations to stakeholders and senior leadership.
Requirements
- 8+ years of hands-on software development experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field; a master’s degree is a plus.
- Strong object-oriented software development experience, with C#/.NET preferred.
- Significant experience building cloud-native applications, preferably on AWS.
- Experience managing and guiding software development teams.
- Experience architecting highly available, distributed, event-driven systems.
- Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka or equivalent streaming or messaging platforms.
- Strong experience with relational databases, SQL, and NoSQL data stores such as DynamoDB.
- Strong data modeling expertise across relational, columnar, key-value, and streaming patterns.
- Experience delivering through Agile/Scrum methodologies and leading legacy modernization initiatives.
- Infrastructure-as-Code experience, preferably Terraform; experience with Snowflake, microservices, serverless technologies, CI/CD pipelines, and code quality tooling.
- Fluency in AI/GenAI for engineering productivity and the ability to apply AI technologies in business and technical contexts.
- Financial Services experience is a plus, along with strong communication and continuous learning skills.
