Responsibilities
- Work directly with strategic startup customers to understand critical workflows, identify failure modes, and uncover improvement opportunities.
- Prototype and iterate on prompts, agents, and workflow designs to improve system behavior and customer value.
- Deliver customer-grounded feedback to Product and Research teams through reproducible evaluations, benchmarks, and technical artifacts.
- Build repeatable tools, patterns, and evaluation approaches across multiple use cases.
- Balance immediate technical problem-solving with longer-term system improvements in ambiguous environments.
- Build relationships across the startup ecosystem and serve as a technical partner to customers and the broader community.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering and AI fundamentals, with experience such as working as a startup CTO, software engineer, ML engineer, data scientist, or equivalent.
- Experience as a technical founder or engineer at an early-stage startup.
- Experience building AI applications, agents, or evaluation systems and reasoning about model behavior in complex workflows.
- Familiarity with or interest in model training pipelines and reinforcement learning.
- Comfort working directly with highly technical users and translating their challenges into concrete technical signals.
- Ability to move between prototyping, debugging, evaluation design, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Clear communication across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong product sense, high agency, and a focus on durable improvements.
- Experience shipping production systems end-to-end is a strong plus.
