Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain UpCloud’s core cloud software for computation and storage.
- Improve VM provisioning and components across the cloud stack, including CPU and GPU compute.
- Enhance internal integrations and collaborate with other development teams.
- Contribute to improved storage and compute plans and future cloud offerings.
- Work as part of an experienced team building distributed cloud infrastructure.
Requirements
- Experience with full-stack or backend development using Go, Perl, or similar languages.
- Understanding of virtualization, Linux servers, bare-metal systems, or large-scale systems.
- Knowledge and practical experience with API development and modern development practices.
- Frontend development experience with React, TypeScript, and Next.js is preferred.
- Knowledge of hypervisors, the Linux networking stack, and virtual storage solutions is preferred.
- Understanding of Linux platform concepts including kernel parameters, initrd, and systemd is preferred.
- Experience with automation tooling, Git, distributed architecture, and microservices is preferred.
- Understanding of customer expectations for cloud infrastructure is preferred.
