Base Salary
$180k - $191k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, maintain, and review efficient, reusable, reliable backend code and automation.
- Develop highly scalable, robust, and performant APIs and enterprise software products.
- Collaborate with architects, designers, product managers, and developers to influence product direction and define requirements.
- Design solutions that improve system performance, quality, responsiveness, and user experience.
- Understand owned modules, end-to-end flows, and related business processes.
- Identify and resolve technical challenges, bottlenecks, and application defects.
- Use AI-enabled engineering practices to improve code quality and accelerate development, testing, and documentation.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to engineering excellence.
- Participate in design and code reviews.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience working with Java and server-side development.
- Experience with Spring Boot, ORM frameworks, microservices, REST APIs, Git, Gradle, and Linux.
- Knowledge of design patterns, memory management, performance optimization, SQL development, data modeling, and complex data structures.
- Hands-on experience with JUnit, TestNG, and Mockito.
- Experience building secure, complex, and scalable APIs from design through deployment.
- Experience with streaming data and complex event processing systems.
- Working knowledge of AWS, Kafka, Apache Spark, Elasticsearch, Redis, and ELK.
- Docker and Kubernetes experience is a strong plus.
- Ability to write and deliver testable, high-quality code.
- Experience with event-based and component-based design and principles including SOLID, KISS, DRY, YAGNI, and Clean Code.
- Adoption of modern LLM tools for Java backend development.
- Strong communication, organization, pragmatism, self-motivation, and collaborative problem-solving skills.
