Base Salary

$123k - $165k/yr

Responsibilities

Build and ship component-level features for ABC News and ABC-owned television station websites.
Write clean, tested code using TypeScript, Node.js, and React, including testing, debugging, and peer code reviews.
Develop specifications for assigned components, projects, and fixes in collaboration with product and design partners.
Recommend improvements to development, coding, maintenance, and system standards.
Support owned software throughout its lifecycle by handling maintenance, troubleshooting production issues, and updating documentation.
Resolve technical issues within defined practices and escalate problems with appropriate context.

At least 3 years of relevant professional software engineering experience.
Strong understanding of frontend web development technologies, frameworks, and best practices.
Extensive experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, React, and Node.js.
Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and core web development principles.
Experience owning features and components through design, implementation, deployment, and ongoing support.
Experience developing automated tests and participating in peer code reviews.
Ability to research, analyze, and solve complex technical challenges.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with close attention to detail.
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent.
Preferred qualifications include experience with large-scale consumer web experiences, CMS or content delivery pipelines, experimentation platforms, personalization or recommendation interfaces, AI coding assistants, cloud providers, CI/CD and deployment tooling, WCAG accessibility standards, monitoring or observability tools, and high-traffic consumer products.
