Responsibilities
- Develop customer authentication and authorization platforms and iterate rapidly with a small engineering team.
- Partner with teams across Coupang to understand needs, shape technical solutions, and drive platform adoption.
- Design robust, scalable, high-performance systems and hands-on develop critical infrastructure components.
- Write backend APIs in Java and Go using industry-standard frameworks.
- Investigate critical system issues and improve operational excellence, reliability, and efficiency.
- Serve as a technical role model and help shape team culture.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field.
- 8+ years of professional software development experience, or 6 years of experience with an advanced degree.
- 2+ years of experience leading technical projects.
- Fluency in one or more of C++, Java, and Go.
- Recent hands-on experience designing and developing large-scale distributed systems.
- Proven delivery of mission-critical systems.
- Experience with cloud computing using AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Deep understanding of cloud application design and architecture, API design patterns, performance, and scale.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s or PhD, knowledge of OIDC, OAuth2, IAM, Kubernetes, gRPC, and Istio, and experience with high-reliability, low-latency cloud systems.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and leading large-scale services is preferred.
