Base Salary
$204k - $276k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead AI/ML strategy, architecture, implementation, and technical direction across the CMS program.
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable AI/ML models, predictive analytics, automation frameworks, and intelligent decision-support systems.
- Integrate AI solutions into secure enterprise and tactical environments and transition prototypes into operational production systems.
- Oversee data engineering pipelines, model lifecycle management, model validation, explainability, and bias mitigation practices.
- Integrate cybersecurity, ethical, data governance, and CMS Risk Management Framework requirements into AI development workflows.
- Assess AI security risks and produce ATO, configuration management, and incident response documentation.
- Coordinate with ISSOs, business owners, and stakeholders on audits, governance reviews, and continuous compliance.
- Advise program leadership on emerging AI technologies and mission applications.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field; a Master’s or PhD is preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in AI/ML, data science, software engineering, or related advanced analytics disciplines.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience designing, developing, and deploying AI/ML solutions in production environments, including MLOps practices.
- Hands-on experience developing AI/ML solutions using Python, R, and/or Java.
- Deep understanding of TensorFlow or PyTorch, preferably implemented within AWS SageMaker.
- Experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into secure enterprise environments and meeting cybersecurity, data governance, and compliance requirements.
- Experience developing AI products or prototypes using Retrieval-Augmented Generation and agentic AI technologies.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and AI services such as AWS Bedrock, Azure AI Foundry, or Google Vertex AI.
- Experience implementing AI solutions in secure, restricted, or regulated environments.
- Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance and having lived in the United States for at least three of the last five years.
- Preferred experience includes enterprise-scale Salesforce solutions, Agentforce implementation, AI governance, U.S. Federal Agency support, AWS GovCloud or Azure Government, and Zero Trust architectures.
