Responsibilities
- Own small- to medium-sized projects across design, development, testing, deployment, production support, and continuous improvement.
- Architect and implement scalable, reliable solutions across mobile and API platforms.
- Build and operate backend services including REST and GraphQL APIs, asynchronous workers, and third-party integrations.
- Write and review code, create design documentation, pair with engineers, and establish technical patterns.
- Lead incremental legacy modernisation while maintaining system stability.
- Improve test coverage, observability, dependency health, and production reliability.
- Address issues from internal and customer channels and provide on-call support for maintained systems.
- Work cross-functionally with Product and Design in an Agile delivery environment.
Requirements
- Strong TypeScript experience across frontend and backend development.
- Experience with React Native or React, with willingness to work in both.
- Experience developing Node.js backends, including REST and GraphQL APIs.
- Experience with MongoDB or other document databases, including query and index design.
- Comfort with AWS dashboards, deployment pipelines, and infrastructure reasoning; CDK or EKS experience is a plus.
- Solid unit, integration, and end-to-end testing discipline in CI pipelines.
- Familiarity with asynchronous messaging patterns such as SQS and event-driven architecture.
- Familiarity with application security practices such as OWASP.
- AWS or another cloud platform certification is listed as a qualification.
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams and Agile delivery environments.
