Responsibilities
- Assess software quality for SaaS and cloud solutions and identify deviations from product goals, standards, and processes.
- Conduct software quality reviews, monitor development-program progress, and lead product release-readiness reviews.
- Communicate quality issues, risks, requirements gaps, and release recommendations before product approval.
- Instrument CI/CD pipelines and engineering dashboards for code coverage, flaky-test detection, build stability, deployment frequency, and rollback rate.
- Apply software testing, release automation, observability, stability, stress, and performance strategies.
- Lead or contribute to production post-mortems, escape-defect feedback loops, risk assessments, and mitigation activities.
- Collaborate across engineering, customer success, quality leadership, and other management levels while providing independent technical recommendations.
- Promote software development, testing, observability, and documentation best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field such as Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- At least 10 years of software engineering experience, including at least 5 years in site reliability, release engineering, or senior quality engineering roles on SaaS or cloud-native systems.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, observability stacks, and release-automation tooling, including direct system instrumentation.
- Experience with unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end test architecture; flaky-test triage; regression-suite design; and test-pyramid practices.
- Software QA automation experience with Java, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or comparable technologies.
- Knowledge of SaaS development processes, SDLC practices, testing methodologies, quality metrics, issue tracking, documentation systems, BI/dashboarding tools, and CRM platforms.
- Experience managing multiple releases using Agile, Scrum, or Scaled Agile practices and working with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Power BI.
- Preferred experience with production incidents, post-mortems, on-call operations, multi-tenant enterprise SaaS, customer-facing platforms, and embedded quality or SRE partnerships.
- Strong communication, analytical, judgment, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to defend technical recommendations and operate effectively amid ambiguity.
