Responsibilities
- Own the technical vision and architectural strategy for Procore’s agentic developer platform across the software development lifecycle.
- Build and integrate AI-native developer tooling for code generation, code review, test generation, incident triage, and agentic pipelines.
- Author architectural RFCs, technical design documents, platform contracts, integration patterns, and engineering standards.
- Conduct code reviews, pair with teammates, mentor senior engineers, and raise the organization’s technical bar.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, platform, and product engineering teams to establish shared standards and avoid duplicated effort.
- Define metrics, telemetry, observability, and feedback loops to improve lead time for changes, change failure rate, and mean time to recover.
- Drive clarity, consensus, and momentum on long-horizon initiatives in an ambiguous organizational environment.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Demonstrated depth in full-stack development and backend systems.
- Experience integrating or building LLM-powered developer tooling, such as code review, test generation, agentic pipelines, or incident triage.
- Experience with LLM evaluation frameworks, benchmarks, evaluations, and quality scoring.
- Experience building MCPs, MCP Gateway, or AI/LLM Gateways.
- Familiarity with the underlying operation of AI agents and LLMs.
- Experience working on Developer Platform, DevOps, or Developer Experience teams.
- Strong fundamentals in Ruby on Rails, Python, or TypeScript, with the ability to work across multiple languages.
- Understanding of deployment strategies, rollback mechanisms, feature flags, and safe deployment practices.
- Expertise in software delivery observability, including DORA metrics, distributed tracing, SLO/SLA design, and measurable feedback loops.
- Track record of mentoring senior engineers and influencing teams without direct authority.
- Ability to navigate organizational ambiguity, build consensus, and lead long-horizon initiatives.
