Base Salary
$165k - $194k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and deliver enterprise AWS cloud solutions aligned with AWS Well-Architected principles, including landing zones, multi-account architectures, networking, IAM, security, and platform engineering.
- Lead cloud migration and application modernization initiatives involving on-premises and legacy cloud environments, ECS/Fargate, containers, serverless architectures, APIs, and cloud-native patterns.
- Design and build infrastructure as code using AWS CDK and TypeScript, including reusable L2/L3 constructs, stack composition, cross-account deployments, and AWS Organizations guardrails.
- Engineer secure DevSecOps and CI/CD capabilities, including pipelines, automated security and quality gates, IAM policies, AWS Config, CloudTrail, Security Hub, CSPM tooling, and compliance controls.
- Advise client teams through discovery sessions, architecture reviews, technical workshops, paired programming, knowledge transfer, and coaching.
- Own architectural outcomes while collaborating with AWS architects, Cognizant delivery leadership, and client engineering, platform, and product teams.
Requirements
- 15+ years of hands-on cloud and infrastructure engineering experience, including 5+ years focused on AWS.
- Deep AWS architecture expertise across VPC, IAM, EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, AWS Organizations, CloudFormation, and AWS CDK.
- Strong hands-on AWS CDK and TypeScript expertise, including L2/L3 constructs, stack composition, reusable infrastructure-as-code patterns, cross-account deployments, landing zones, and enterprise security guardrails.
- Proven enterprise cloud migration and application modernization experience, including rehosting, replatforming, and modernization.
- Strong container expertise across Docker, ECS/Fargate, EKS, Kubernetes, and Helm.
- Strong CI/CD and DevSecOps engineering experience with pipeline tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI, plus IAM, cloud-security guardrails, CSPM, and automated compliance controls.
- Demonstrated consulting and client-facing delivery experience, including architecture leadership, technical workshops, stakeholder communication, knowledge transfer, and coaching.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional and/or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional certification is preferred.
- Experience with ECS and Fargate modernization, AWS Migration Acceleration Program methodologies, and cloud migration programs in financial services, banking, or other regulated industries is preferred.
- Terraform experience, exposure to Azure or Google Cloud, and FinOps and cloud-cost governance experience are preferred.
