Base Salary
$90k - $158k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain MCP-based connectors exposing internal tools and data sources to AI agents.
- Implement agent-to-agent patterns for multi-step workflows across internal systems and external vendor agents.
- Define tool contracts, schemas, parameters, outputs, versioning, and compatibility practices.
- Develop Python services and REST APIs or asynchronous workers connecting the React intranet with agent runtimes and tools.
- Integrate internal AI gateways, approved LLM runtimes, external vendor agents, and knowledge sources using secure access controls.
- Implement reliable routing, timeouts, retries, circuit breakers, fallbacks, error handling, logging, auditing, and observability.
- Support retrieval and grounding workflows involving document ingestion, chunking, embeddings, retrieval, citations, and access controls.
- Harden integrations against prompt injection and tool misuse through validation, confirmation steps, and content-safety checks.
- Contribute to unit and integration testing, regression testing, release readiness, production triage, documentation, and cross-functional delivery.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of hands-on software engineering experience with strong Python development skills.
- Practical experience with REST APIs, JSON and schema-driven payloads, and authentication patterns such as OAuth/OIDC and token handling.
- Familiarity with tool or function calling, structured outputs, multi-step orchestration, and safe execution patterns.
- Experience with MCP and/or agent-to-agent communication patterns is strongly preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and experience building reliable integrations in complex enterprise environments.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with RAG, vector databases, LLM evaluation and quality testing, event-driven patterns, queues, asynchronous processing, or modern observability tooling is preferred.
- Exposure to Microsoft 365 integrations, employee intranet platforms, or GHR/HR domain processes is preferred.
