Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain Python utilities, automation scripts, integrations, and low-code/no-code solutions for data governance.
- Extend governance and cataloging tools through APIs and SDKs and automate cataloging, classification, metadata management, and policy enforcement.
- Configure, schedule, monitor, and remediate catalog scans and metadata harvesting jobs.
- Build and maintain data lineage tracking and self-service data access request workflows.
- Maintain governance coverage metrics, stakeholder reporting, documentation, and compliance processes.
- Collaborate with data stewards, data engineering teams, and stakeholders to enforce data standards and improve governance tooling.
- Monitor healthcare, privacy, data protection, and regulatory changes and incorporate them into governance processes.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience building software utilities, automations, or data tooling using Python or a similar language.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python and experience with SQL, data querying tools, REST APIs, and SDKs.
- Hands-on Microsoft Purview experience, including cataloging, classification, lineage, APIs, and SDKs, is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with data governance and cataloging platforms such as Databricks, Collibra, Informatica, and Alation, and visualization platforms such as Power BI.
- Knowledge of data lifecycle management, data architecture, HIPAA, GDPR, and data governance compliance requirements.
- Preferred certifications include Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, Microsoft Certified: Information Protection and Compliance Administrator Associate, Certified Data Management Professional, or DAMA Certified Data Steward.
- Healthcare or revenue cycle management experience, familiarity with EHR, ICD/CPT, and SNOMED/LOINC data, and experience with additional programming or scripting languages are preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, inquisitiveness, and openness to innovation are required.
- Must be willing and able to travel to and work onsite at client, temporary, or corporate office locations as business needs require.
