Responsibilities
- Build, support, and integrate Legal AI and automation solutions across Chamelio, Microsoft 365 Copilot, Claude, OneTrust, internal Legal systems, data platforms, document repositories, and approved enterprise data sources.
- Design and build AI-powered legal applications, internal copilots, intelligent automations, agentic workflows, and API-based integrations.
- Translate Legal requirements involving architecture, access controls, data flows, integrations, model behavior, trade-offs, compliance, confidentiality, and governance into practical technical solutions.
- Partner with Legal stakeholders to identify high-impact use cases, define requirements, prioritize the engineering backlog, and deliver adoptable solutions.
- Manage Legal AI solutions across discovery, architecture, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, documentation, user training, support, adoption measurement, and continuous improvement.
- Protect privileged, confidential, personal, employee, and sensitive business data through secure-by-design architecture, access controls, audit logging, retention alignment, and privacy-by-design practices.
- Develop evaluation, testing, and quality frameworks for Legal AI outputs covering accuracy, reliability, defensibility, source grounding, human review, and escalation.
- Collaborate with Enterprise Applications, IT, Data, Security, and Legal to align solutions with enterprise architecture, security standards, governance requirements, and Legal’s operating model.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in software, data, automation, integration, platform, or applied AI engineering, including at least 5 years building and operating production software.
- Strong Python skills; TypeScript or C# experience is a plus.
- Experience building tested and maintainable services, APIs, and systems using relational and document data stores, CI/CD, and containers.
- Production experience building LLM API applications using retrieval-augmented generation, tool calling, multi-step agent workflows, human-in-the-loop controls, and structured outputs.
- Experience building evaluation sets and quality metrics for LLM outputs and using them to gate releases.
- Experience building enterprise-scale document-processing pipelines that parse, OCR, extract, classify, and structure unstructured documents.
- Experience applying authentication, authorization, secrets management, encryption, audit logging, and privacy-by-design practices to systems handling sensitive data.
- Experience using agentic coding tools as a core part of software development and demonstrating production delivery improvements from their use.
- Ability to work effectively with non-technical Legal stakeholders, explain technical concepts clearly, challenge assumptions, and translate Legal priorities into engineering solutions.
- Fluent written and spoken English is required; Vietnamese is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Relevant cloud, security, data, or AI engineering certifications are advantageous.
