Responsibilities
- Own the technical strategy, architecture, roadmap, health, and evolution of Pura’s end-to-end supply chain platform.
- Lead systems spanning order management, inventory allocation, warehouse integration, and shipment tracking.
- Design and operate high-scale distributed systems using service-oriented and event-driven architectures.
- Establish API strategy, observability, monitoring, and operational excellence standards.
- Partner with business stakeholders and executive leadership to translate business needs and technical tradeoffs into clear recommendations.
- Provide hands-on code, design leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to a small, high-impact engineering team.
Requirements
- 10+ years of backend engineering experience with demonstrated technical leadership across teams or domains.
- Expert-level proficiency in Golang and/or modern backend languages such as Node or Python.
- Deep expertise designing and operating high-scale distributed systems and solving complex, ambiguous problems.
- Strong command of service-oriented architecture, API strategy, and event-driven architectures at scale.
- Expert-level AWS or comparable cloud knowledge, including Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.
- Deep expertise in relational database design and optimization, preferably PostgreSQL, plus caching technologies such as Redis and scalable data modeling.
- Experience establishing observability, monitoring, and operational excellence standards across engineering teams.
- Exceptional communication skills for explaining technical tradeoffs to business and executive audiences.
- Experience mentoring senior engineers and serving as a technical force multiplier.
- Preferred: experience with distributed order management systems, supply chain or logistics integrations, temporal data modeling, event sourcing, e-commerce or consumer products, and platform migrations or re-architecture programs.
