Responsibilities
- Define and evolve front-end architecture, patterns, coding standards, and best practices for secure, performant, maintainable web experiences.
- Lead the end-to-end design and implementation of complex consumer-facing features and UI systems.
- Partner with product, design, back-end, and data teams to shape roadmaps and technical strategies across multiple squads.
- Review critical code and designs while setting standards for testing, accessibility, reliability, and operational excellence.
- Coach and mentor senior and staff engineers and develop technical leadership across teams.
- Evaluate and introduce front-end technologies, frameworks, and tooling to improve developer productivity, site performance, and customer experience.
- Influence organization-wide engineering decisions and use data and experimentation to improve front-end outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production web applications.
- Significant experience with modern JavaScript/TypeScript front-end frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex, high-visibility front-end initiatives across multiple teams.
- Proven ability to influence architecture, standards, and technical direction for large-scale consumer-facing or enterprise web experiences.
- Experience mentoring and developing engineers, including senior-level talent.
- Experience working in cloud-based environments and collaborating with back-end, data, and product teams.
