Responsibilities
- Build and operate the domain data platform for multi-modal scientific data.
- Develop and manage the shared specialist-model serving and fine-tuning stack.
- Establish the shared agentic infrastructure for research programs.
- Create a cross-program evaluation harness to gauge research progress.
- Leverage and extend Lila's central AI and Data Platforms for cell-biology needs.
- Co-develop the technical platform direction with scientific leads.
- Set engineering standards and mentor research engineers.
Requirements
- Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of ML platform, infrastructure, or research-engineering experience.
- Hands-on experience building and operating ML platforms.
- Experience designing and operating data pipelines for high-dimensional scientific data.
- Proficiency in serving and fine-tuning heterogeneous specialist models.
- Demonstrated work on agentic or autonomous-science systems.
- Strong fluency in modern ML systems tooling and software engineering fundamentals.
- Proven track record of cross-functional collaboration.
