Responsibilities
- Design, build, and evolve scalable and resilient services supporting agentic AI capabilities.
- Lead low-level system design, API design, and data modeling for distributed services integrating traditional software with AI-driven workflows.
- Integrate and operate AI/ML-enabled solutions across experimentation, training, and production environments with attention to quality, robustness, observability, and compliance.
- Partner with product, applied science, data, and platform teams to define technical direction and deliver reusable features.
- Own service lifecycles including design, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and incident response.
- Set standards for code quality, testing, performance, security, and reliability, and mentor other engineers.
- Design agentic orchestration, tool interfaces, connectors, and safeguards for developer and traveler experiences.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent related professional experience.
- 6+ years of professional software development experience with a master's degree, or 8+ years with a bachelor's degree.
- Proven ownership of the end-to-end lifecycle of one or more software services or components.
- Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, Kotlin, or Python.
- Experience with system design, API design, and data modeling for scalable and reliable services.
- Familiarity with AI-driven systems, tools, or workflows and applying AI/ML concepts to real-world products.
- Preferred: experience with multi-service or domain-level architectures combining deterministic services with AI/ML or agentic components.
- Preferred: experience with observability, SLOs, capacity planning, incident management, and continuous improvement at scale.
- Preferred: hands-on experience with model-backed APIs, retrieval-augmented systems, or workflow and agent orchestration frameworks.
- Preferred: experience evaluating AI system performance, guardrails, user impact, and agentic architectures at the platform or domain level.
