Base Salary
$191k - $299k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable pipelines for telemetry, logs, sensor data, and cloud-software ingestion and processing.
- Develop and maintain robot-side data ingestion agents for high-volume collection in low-connectivity environments.
- Develop data formats and protocols optimized for transmitting, storing, and querying recordings, sensor data, and telemetry.
- Build and maintain observability systems using Fluent Bit, OpenTelemetry, and related tools for real-time fleet monitoring and analytics.
- Prepare high-volume, high-velocity data for analysis using Spark, Kafka, or equivalent technologies.
- Build and optimize internal tools for business intelligence, long-horizon fleet analytics, and forecasting using AWS S3, Athena, SageMaker, and related services.
- Improve data collection and processing from robot sensors and edge devices through IoT integration.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience building and scaling cloud-based data platforms.
- Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure and proficiency with big-data frameworks such as Spark, Kafka, Beam, or Flink.
- Experience with Parquet, Arrow, Iceberg, Avro, Protobuf, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, metrics, tracing, and logging systems.
- Proficiency in Java, Scala, or Python and a strong understanding of distributed systems and microservices architectures.
- Robotics, autonomous vehicle, sensor-heavy workload, IoT, edge computing, or embedded-device experience is preferred.
- Data catalog experience with DataHub, Amundsen, or Databricks Unity Catalog and experience with Databricks or Kubernetes are preferred.
- Experience with Bazel, Blaze, C++, Rust, MCAP, ROS, Rerun, or related robot-data and build systems is preferred.
