Responsibilities
- Architect, implement, and maintain MongoDB Atlas and non-Atlas environments for high availability, scalability, and security.
- Design and enforce resiliency and disaster recovery strategies, including backup, restore, and multi-region failover.
- Optimize database performance and query execution for application development teams across the SDLC.
- Develop and manage infrastructure-as-code solutions with Terraform and GitOps for database provisioning and automation.
- Implement and refine observability and monitoring using Dynatrace, CloudWatch, and MongoDB native telemetry.
- Manage access control, auditing, and encryption for enterprise security and compliance.
- Collaborate with application, DevOps, and platform teams to improve reliability, performance, and operational excellence.
- Lead database-related incident response, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventative actions.
- Mentor and guide technical teams and contribute to documentation, standards, and design reviews.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience as a MongoDB DBA, including at least 4 years administering MongoDB Atlas.
- Strong experience with AWS, including EC2, EKS, CloudWatch, IAM, KMS, VPC, and Lambda.
- Proficiency with Terraform, GitOps, CI/CD automation, and containerized workloads using EKS/Kubernetes.
- Experience with Dynatrace, Prometheus, or equivalent observability platforms.
- Strong Linux administration expertise and scripting skills in Python and Bash.
- Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to participate in on-call rotation and incident response.
- Preferred experience with Kafka, CDC, and enterprise data integration platforms.
- Preferred familiarity with GitOps practices and infrastructure observability at enterprise scale.
