Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy large-scale machine learning systems that create business value across multiple domains.
- Design, train, improve, and launch machine learning models end to end.
- Write production-scale ML models for Stripe’s global economic infrastructure.
- Collaborate across teams, incorporate stakeholder feedback, and proactively solve technical challenges.
- Learn unfamiliar technologies and systems quickly while communicating work status effectively.
Requirements
- Be pursuing a PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a closely related field, with expected graduation in winter 2027 or spring/summer 2028.
- Have practical programming and machine learning experience through projects, classwork, or research.
- Have familiarity with Python, Scala, Spark, Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-learn.
- Have expertise in supervised and unsupervised learning, ML operations, and potentially Large Language Models or Reinforcement Learning.
- Demonstrate collaborative project experience, receptiveness to feedback, proactive learning, and the ability to understand complex systems independently.
- Intend to return to the degree program after completing the internship or co-op.
- Preferred qualifications include two years of university education or equivalent experience, in-depth machine learning knowledge, peer-reviewed publications, high-quality pull requests, good test coverage, codebase navigation, multilingual programming experience, and strong written communication.
- Submit a resume or LinkedIn profile and examples of relevant work such as GitHub repositories, StackOverflow contributions, or other project portfolios.
