Responsibilities
- Translate business and technical requirements into software solutions.
- Design, develop, test, document, and deliver new features, enhancements, and system modifications.
- Maintain and improve existing applications and troubleshoot defects through root-cause analysis.
- Prepare test data and complete unit and integration testing before handoff to functional and QA teams.
- Create and maintain technical designs, user documentation, installation procedures, and maintenance documentation.
- Provide estimates for assigned development activities and deliver software according to requirements and project plans.
- Learn and work with existing development tools, applications, and frameworks.
- Collaborate with development, functional, QA, support, product, and other cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 1 to 3 years of software development experience with ILE, RPGLE, CLLE, DB2 for IBM i, SQL, and Free-Format RPG.
- Experience with one or more programming languages such as Java, jQuery, or JavaScript.
- Understanding of software development methodologies, design, implementation, requirements, specifications, documentation, unit testing, integration testing, and quality assurance.
- Analytical, design, problem-solving, communication, interpersonal, and collaborative teamwork skills.
- Ability to understand existing application code and troubleshoot software issues.
- Preferred: exposure to IBM i, AS/400, or System i application development.
- Preferred: understanding of the IBM i operating environment, including IFS, security, subsystems, commands, and service programs.
- Preferred: experience with Infinium applications or other Infor ERP products.
- Preferred: understanding of Servlets, JavaScript, jQuery, UI, Angular, HTML, XML, CSS, XSL, JSP, AJAX, JSON, and SQL.
- Preferred: familiarity with software configuration management or source control tools.
