Base Salary
$181k - $237k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and release of complex technical and infrastructure projects across multiple teams.
- Own medium to large infrastructure features and complex technology capabilities from design through completion.
- Design and build resilient, fault-tolerant systems while reducing failure domains and the impact of outages.
- Build software and automation that minimizes maintenance effort and business impact during failures.
- Guide the development of Service-Level Objectives for owned systems.
- Drive technical roadmap prioritization and influence product roadmap and process improvements.
- Lead and mentor engineers while setting standards for stable, correct, and maintainable code.
- Facilitate cross-team execution, identify delivery risks, and actively mitigate them.
- Contribute to functional-group and organization-wide engineering initiatives.
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience with increasingly impactful accomplishments.
- Experience contributing significantly to cross-pod or cross-company deliverables.
- Experience leading technical contributions and building fault-tolerant, scalable software systems.
- Expertise applying computer science concepts in engineering work.
- Experience mentoring and training more junior engineers.
- Deep production cloud experience with AWS or GCP at scale is preferred.
- Advanced experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools is preferred.
- Experience with Kubernetes, ArgoCD, SRE practices, SLOs, error budgets, and incident management is preferred.
- Experience building deployment pipelines with GitHub Actions is preferred.
- Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana is preferred.
- Knowledge of cloud-native security, IAM, VPC peering, and Istio is preferred.
- Ability to use at least one programming language to develop scripts and software.
- B.S. in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent high-level industry experience.

- Base pay is $180,504-$236,911 per year, plus employee benefits, equity grants, and annual performance bonuses.

- The role is based in Oscar’s New York City office with a hybrid schedule requiring three in-office days per week; Thursdays are required and the other two days are flexible.
