Responsibilities

  • Own and improve local development environment stability, reproducibility, onboarding, and self-service setup
  • Improve IDE and editor tooling, extensions, code search, indexing, and navigation
  • Build project scaffolding, templates, and golden-path workflows
  • Improve testing tooling, test orchestration, ephemeral end-to-end environments, mutation testing, and chaos testing
  • Profile and optimize build and test performance, CI pipelines, test parallelization, sharding, and caching
  • Integrate and optimize code review tooling and automated review
  • Evaluate, integrate, and curate AI coding agents, assistants, skills, extensions, and plugins
  • Measure the impact of AI-assisted development tools
  • Track productivity metrics, feedback loops, DORA metrics, code coverage, and mutation-testing signals
  • Build dashboards and automation that improve code quality and catch issues early
  • Champion engineering best practices and reduce friction across the engineering organization

Requirements

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience focused on developer productivity, infrastructure, or platform engineering
  • Proficiency in Go, TypeScript, Python, Rust, and shell
  • Experience optimizing CI/CD systems and pipelines, including tools such as GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Octopus, or Harness
  • Experience creating stable, reproducible local development environments using technologies such as devcontainers, Nix, or Docker
  • Experience with containerization and image optimization
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools, coding agents, and IDE assistants
  • Experience with test infrastructure, test orchestration, ephemeral end-to-end environments, flaky-test management, mutation testing, or chaos testing
  • Experience with code review, developer workflow tooling, and related automation
  • Experience with monorepo tooling, build systems, package managers, build caching, and remote execution, including tools such as pnpm, Nx, Turborepo, or Bazel
  • Experience using developer productivity metrics and feedback loops such as DORA to drive improvements
  • Experience making local development environments stable and reproducible across teams
  • Clear communication with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience working asynchronously or in globally distributed teams
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity and moving quickly
