Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain software installation packages and deployment solutions for Windows and Linux.
- Use Windows Installer, InstallShield, C#, PowerShell, Bash, and C++ to create installation scripts and automation.
- Apply software engineering practices to produce reliable, maintainable, and testable solutions.
- Develop and execute tests for installation, upgrade, configuration, and deployment functionality.
- Integrate installation and deployment processes with Git or Perforce and CI/CD pipelines.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve installation and deployment issues with guidance from senior team members.
- Collaborate with developers, QA, DevOps, and other team members to implement installation and deployment requirements.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, knowledge sharing, and Agile development practices.
- Use and validate AI-assisted development tools for coding, debugging, testing, troubleshooting, learning, and documentation.
- Continuously learn and apply new technologies and automation techniques to improve software quality and development efficiency.
Requirements
- 1–2 years of professional software development experience, preferably involving software installation, deployment, build, or related technologies.
- Experience with one or more of C#, C++, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Good programming fundamentals and experience developing maintainable and testable software.
- Understanding of Windows and/or Linux operating systems and software installation and configuration concepts.
- Experience with or knowledge of Windows Installer, InstallShield, or similar installation and packaging technologies.
- Understanding of software engineering principles and the software development lifecycle.
- Experience with or willingness to adopt AI-assisted software development tools and validate AI-generated code and recommendations.
- Experience with Git or Perforce and familiarity with CI/CD and automated build, test, and deployment processes.
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
- Good analytical, debugging, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
