Base Salary
$164k - $226k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define the technical vision, core infrastructure, and backend architecture for Databricks’ Enterprise Agentic Framework.
- Build a modular, multi-tenant agent platform initially optimized for Customer Support and designed for expansion into additional enterprise domains.
- Develop backend systems with strong quality, safety, throughput, and reliability standards.
- Design state-machine and agentic workflows that support human validation and automated execution.
- Implement backend tracing, logging, transparency, safe execution, and instant rollback mechanisms for critical AI-driven decisions.
- Coordinate with CXI, Product, Platform Engineering, and business stakeholders to resolve dependencies and align roadmaps.
- Set engineering standards for backend code quality, performance, and maintainability.
- Mentor engineers and subject matter experts across Software, Support, and internal operations teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
- Extensive experience designing, building, and maintaining high-throughput production backend systems.
- Proven success deploying enterprise-grade backend infrastructure, microservices, and robust APIs in complex environments.
- Deep familiarity with distributed systems, data platforms, and large-scale internal or external traffic.
- Hands-on experience with ML-assisted backend systems, LLM orchestration frameworks, state machines, or agentic automation.
- Strong understanding of AWS, Azure, and GCP environments alongside enterprise compliance, data privacy, and security constraints.
