Responsibilities
- Own the design, development, and maintenance of automated test frameworks spanning backend services and UI.
- Define and drive end-to-end test strategy across services and features.
- Partner with engineering and product to shape features, advocate for testability, and align on quality standards.
- Contribute a testability and reliability perspective to architecture and design discussions.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar systems.
- Perform exploratory testing to identify usability issues, edge cases, and regressions.
- Manage multiple projects and shifting priorities while maintaining testing rigor.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in QA or software testing, including 2+ years operating at a senior or staff level.
- Strong hands-on programming skills in at least one of Go, Python, or JavaScript for automation and tooling.
- Daily experience using AI tools for PR and design-document review, test planning, and test-case automation, with the judgment to verify outputs.
- Deep understanding of CI/CD systems and hands-on experience integrating automated test suites into pipelines.
- Working knowledge of Kubernetes environments and distributed systems, or a strong aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Excellent analytical and debugging skills, particularly for backend and infrastructure-related issues.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to advocate for quality across engineering and product.
- Ability to operate independently in ambiguity and manage competing priorities in a fast-moving startup.
- Experience testing tenant cluster or Tenant Isolation environments is a bonus.
- Prior experience owning QA at a startup during rapid product growth is a bonus.
