Responsibilities
- Develop performance-optimized ABAP solutions for SAP HANA using database pushdown principles.
- Build CDS views, associations, annotations, data models, authorization concepts, and reusable semantic artifacts.
- Implement performance-critical logic with AMDP and SQLScript.
- Develop modular, testable ABAP code, services, and OData-based integrations.
- Build AI-enabled SAP experiences with LLM integration, retrieval grounding, tool orchestration, deterministic fallbacks, and context assembly.
- Create automated unit, integration, and contract tests plus AI evaluation harnesses and monitoring.
- Implement AI guardrails including authorization-aware filtering, redaction, action confirmations, and audit logging.
- Add observability, error handling, retries, idempotency, correlation IDs, runbooks, and incident diagnostics.
- Integrate SAP and non-SAP systems through event-driven patterns, API gateways, cloud runtimes, and enterprise integration layers.
- Collaborate with UX, integration, data, and platform teams to evolve prototypes into secure, compliant production systems.
Requirements
- At least 7.5 years of professional experience.
- 15 years of full-time education.
- Strong hands-on expertise in ABAP development on HANA, including performance tuning, pushdown, and efficient SQL access patterns.
- Proficiency with CDS views and modern data modeling using associations, annotations, and authorization concepts.
- Experience with AMDP and SQLScript for controlled code pushdown.
- Solid software engineering, testing, clean-design, CI/CD, and production-readiness practices.
- Ability to build AI-native capabilities involving LLM integration, retrieval grounding, tool orchestration, evaluation loops, and safety boundaries.
- Knowledge of OData and service design, API lifecycle management, and contract-first development.
- Experience integrating SAP backends with cloud runtimes and enterprise integration platforms is beneficial.
- Familiarity with performance benchmarking, load testing, query-plan tuning, SAP security, authorizations, and compliance requirements is beneficial.
