Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance REST and/or GraphQL APIs.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, engineers, infrastructure teams, and DevOps teams on API specifications, deployment, monitoring, and CI/CD.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code and conduct code reviews.
- Optimize API performance, scalability, and reliability through continuous monitoring and improvement.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and API specifications.
- Integrate internal systems with third-party applications and services.
- Implement security standards, authentication, and authorization mechanisms such as OAuth 2.0, JWT, and API keys.
- Contribute across the software development life cycle and support a culture of technical excellence.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional software development experience, including at least 4 years focused on API development.
- Expert-level proficiency in at least one of Java, Python, Go, or Node.js.
- Deep understanding of API design patterns, REST principles, and HTTP protocols.
- Strong experience with relational SQL databases and NoSQL data stores.
- Proficiency with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
- Expertise in unit testing, integration testing, and debugging.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and independent-working skills.
- Ability to work in an Agile environment.
- Preferred experience with microservices, event-driven architecture, API gateways, API management platforms, high-volume or mission-critical APIs, financial data exchange standards, caching, messaging, and asynchronous processing.
