Responsibilities

Lead the design and development of automated test plans, suites, and frameworks across multiple projects.
Mentor and guide junior QA engineers and support their transition toward Test Engineering.
Maintain and scale test automation infrastructure for CI/CD pipelines, cross-platform validation, and rapid feedback.
Perform targeted manual, exploratory, edge-case, and UI/UX testing.
Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams on test strategies, acceptance criteria, and testing priorities.
Drive cross-team initiatives to improve QA processes, testing tools, and engineering quality standards.
Monitor, triage, and investigate test failures and raise actionable bugs.
Provide feedback on UI/UX enhancements and ensure tests reflect real user flows and edge cases.
Influence technical strategy for performance, load, and security testing.

A degree in a STEM subject or equivalent experience through an alternative route.
Experience working at a similar level in a mature Engineering team.
Expertise designing, building, and scaling automated test frameworks, ideally with Cypress or Playwright.
Proficiency in at least one of TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, or Java.
Ability to architect automation solutions across frontend, backend, and APIs with maintainability, scalability, and fast CI/CD feedback.
Strong understanding of distributed systems, SQL/NoSQL data validation, and test integration within microservice-based architectures.
A demonstrable record of impact, proactive problem-solving, independence, and attention to detail.
Preferred experience setting up or scaling automation frameworks from scratch.
Preferred experience with performance, load, or security testing tools.
Preferred experience mentoring or leading Test Engineering teams.
Preferred experience with native mobile application testing, Kubernetes, microservices architecture, or cloud-based infrastructure.

Hybrid role based in London.
Immediate start date.
