Responsibilities
- Own data models and feature areas spanning Online Transaction Processing, Online Analytical Processing, JSON, spatial, and graph data.
- Design and architect application services, APIs, schemas, and scalable software solutions.
- Define performance budgets, optimize queries and APIs, and conduct profiling to meet latency and service-level targets.
- Implement functional and non-functional testing, quality assurance, logging, monitoring, observability, and reliability improvements.
- Lead debugging, troubleshooting, code reviews, architecture reviews, and resolution of complex customer and product issues.
- Partner with product management and user experience teams to design experiments and analyze adoption, conversion, and retention.
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, mentoring, and hiring input for engineers.
- Coordinate project tasks and deliverables across multiple initiatives and drive process improvements.
Requirements
- Advanced software development knowledge with experience designing complex services, data models, APIs, and scalable software architectures.
- Experience working across transactional and analytical data systems, including JSON, spatial, or graph data models.
- Experience with query and API performance optimization, profiling, scalability, testing, debugging, and observability.
- Ability to implement API versioning, lifecycle, interoperability, secure coding, maintenance, and patching practices.
- Ability to provide technical leadership, coach engineers, lead code reviews, and collaborate with product, architecture, stakeholders, and customers.
- Experience analyzing experiment results and using customer or business data to inform product improvements.
